)The Political Scientist) Ontario has embarked on an ambitious plan to vaccinate all health care and essential workers by January 21. The essential workers include those who work in long-term care homes. Thus far, the province has been able to vaccinate 50,000 of its residents between the two approved vaccines of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.

The province expects to receive more doses of the two vaccines. Currently, it has received 95,000 of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which was first approved by Health Canada and 53,000 Moderna vaccines which was approved two weeks ago. The province’s vaccine roll out plan plan came under heavy criticism with the slow progress made. Ontario vaccination plan includes the regions of York, Windsor-Essex, Toronto and Peel.
